Eddie Rickenbacker

Eddie Rickenbacker competed in the Indianapolis 500 Mile race four times, with a best starting position of second in 1916 and best finish of 10th in 1914 in a Duesenberg, before earning the Medal of Honor as an ace in World War I.

After returning to the States, Rickenbacker was the owner of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for 15 years along with being the CEO of Eastern Air Lines. He sold the Speedway to Tony Hulman in 1945.

In his new book "Enduring Courage: Ace Pilot Eddie Rickenbacker and the Dawn of the Age of Speed," John Ross talks about Rickenbacker's contributions to the automotive and airline industries in a CSPAN address.
