INDYCAR is the sanctioning body responsible for overseeing two of the most competitive open-wheel racing championships in the world: the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDY NXT by Firestone. Together, these series represent the pinnacle and the future of North American open-wheel racing.

What is the NTT INDYCAR SERIES?

The NTT INDYCAR SERIES is North America's premier open-wheel racing championship, featuring world-class athletes from more than 11 countries. It blends speed, strategy and precision across a schedule unlike anything else in motorsports.

At the heart of the series is the Indianapolis 500. Held each May at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the event is known around the world as The Greatest Spectacle in Racing. It stands as one of the most iconic and prestigious races in the sport, drawing hundreds of thousands of fans and a global roster of competitors. For drivers and teams, winning the Indy 500 is a career-defining achievement and the centerpiece of every INDYCAR season.

What sets the NTT INDYCAR SERIES apart is its variety. Each year’s calendar includes a mix of track types that test every element of a driver’s skill:

Superspeedways deliver some of the fastest speeds in motorsport

Short ovals require precision and aggressive racecraft

Road courses demand technical control and endurance

Street circuits bring the action into city centers, where walls are unforgiving and every corner counts

This diverse schedule creates a championship where consistency and adaptability are just as important as raw speed.
