Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio

• Race 14 of Verizon IndyCar Series season (July 31, Aug. 1-2). ... Team Penske’s Juan Pablo Montoya, who starts 10th, leads the championship standings by 42 points over Graham Rahal, who starts 13th, of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. Second through eighth are separated by 51 points with three races left.

• Qualifying: Scott Dixon toasted the track lap record in qualifying with a lap of 1 minute, 04.5814 seconds in earning the Verizon P1 Award. Dario Franchitti and Gil de Ferran shared the track record of 1:05.347. Reigning Verizon IndyCar Series champion Will Power will join Dixon on the front row. Dixon is third in the standings and Power is fifth and has ground to make up.

"I have to have three very strong races," said Power, driver of the No. 1 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet. "Maybe we're in a position now to take a bit of a risk on strategy depending on where we qualify. But at the end of the day I have to put my head down and get the absolute most out of every weekend. I'm really focused on doing that. The last three races have been pretty bad for us. You have your good and bad times during the year, but these last three races are going to be a good time. It's time to get some good results."

• 2014 race: Dixon scored a dramatic last-to-first victory in the 90-lap race. Dixon’s win from the 22nd starting position is the second-most spots gained by an Indy car race winner on a road/street course. Max Papis won in 2001 at Laguna Seca from the 25th starting position. Sebastien Bourdais finished second.
