TNT Energy Drink joins Kanaan at Ganassi team

Chip Ganassi Racing Teams announced a multi-year deal with TNT Energy Drink, continuing Indianapolis 500 winner Tony Kanaan's longtime relationship with the brand.

"TNT first came onboard with me at the end of 2010 and they were the first ones to tell me I would stay in the IndyCar Series when I had no sponsor and no team to race, so I'm more than excited to have them join Chip Ganassi Racing for this new chapter of my career," Kanaan said.

It was announced last month that Kanaan had signed a multi-year deal to drive the No. 8 Chevrolet-powered car with primary sponsorship from NTT DATA for the reigning series championship team.

Of note

Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Al Unser Jr. will co-drive with his son, Al, plus Ivan Bellarosa and JFC Racing owner Miles Jackson in the 25 Hours of Thunderhill on Dec. 7-8. Also entered in the National Auto Sport Association-sanctioned event on the 3-mile, 15-turn circuit 90 minutes north of Sacramento, Calif., is former Indy car driver Davy Jones. Team Honda Research with Acura ILX cars will field two of the 73 teams entered in six classes.
