ABC will televise the Firestone 550 at 8:30 p.m. (ET) today. It's the first IZOD IndyCar Series prime-time race on the network. It's the 25th IZOD IndyCar Series race at Texas Motor Speedway dating to 1997.

Chief announcer Marty Reid will be joined in the broadcast booth by Scott Goodyear and Eddie Cheever Jr.

Did you know: In the 24 IndyCar races at Texas Motor Speedway, 16 have had a margin of victory of less than one second and eight have been decided by less than one-tenth of a second. ... Five times the driver that has won at Texas has gone on to win the series championship. ... There has not been a repeat winner at Texas for the past seven years and 18 different drivers have won. ... Simon Pagenaud, the Race 2 winner of the Dual in Detroit on June 2, and teammate Tristan Vautier incurred 10-grid spot penalties because of unapproved engine changes. Simona De Silvestro also was levied a 10-grid spot penalty.
