A rock-and-roll all-star lineup will headline the Rock-N-Roar Concert on April 8 in conjunction with the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach race weekend.

The Kings of Chaos will perform in the show beginning at approximately 9 p.m. ET. Members of the all-star band include Billy Idol, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, Robert and Dean DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots, Billy Duffy from The Cult and Matt Sorum, the drummer from Guns-N-Roses and Velvet Revolver. The concert is free to ticker-holders for that day’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach activities.

“I am really looking forward to playing for racing fans in the town where I was born,” Sorum said. “The Grand Prix of Long Beach is the coolest event going.”

The Long Beach race is the second on the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series schedule, with this year’s event marking the 34th straight year that Indy cars will compete on the temporary street course. Simon Pagenaud won the 2016 race before going on to claim the season championship.

The concert will take place on the stage outside the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center near the main entrance to the track. The group’s set list will include hit songs from ZZ Top, Billy Idol, Stone Temple Pilots, The Cult and others.

“This unique Kings of Chaos ‘super group’ concert format featuring so many famous artists will be a huge draw and a fantastic addition to our already impressive Super Saturday lineup,” said Jim Michaelian, president and CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach.

Ticket prices for Saturday’s racing events and concert start at $58 for a general admission ticket, with Saturday-only reserved seating costing $67. Three-day tickets, prepaid parking packages, handicapped seating, Verizon IndyCar Series paddock access passes, Super Photo tickets and an array of VIP Club packages are also available. Construction has already begun on the iconic 1.968-mile street circuit in preparation for the April 7-9 race weekend. The first of more than 2,400 concrete blocks that anchor the safety system around the 11-turn racing circuit have been placed, and construction crews are building the 14 grandstands that line the course.

In addition to the Verizon IndyCar Series, weekend competition also includes the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Pirelli World Challenge, stadium super trucks and super drift challenge.

“The start of our track construction really signals that spring is right around the corner,” said Michaelian. “This year’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach is going to be bigger, better and faster than ever before. We’ve got a great lineup of activities that should provide our fans non-stop action from Friday morning right through to the close on Sunday afternoon.”
