United Rentals

Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing announced that United Rentals Inc., the largest equipment rental company in the world, has extended its agreement with the Verizon IndyCar Series team with a new multiyear agreement.

United Rentals will again be the primary sponsor for driver Graham Rahal’s No. 15 Honda for the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit doubleheader weekend, June 2-4, 2017, and has added primary sponsorship of Rahal’s car for the Desert Diamond West Valley Phoenix Grand Prix at Phoenix International Raceway on April 28-29. The agreement also calls for United Rentals to be a major associate sponsor for Rahal during the 2017-2018 seasons and continue as the Official Equipment Partner of the Verizon IndyCar Series.

“We are extremely pleased to have United Rentals expand their relationship with us,” said Bobby Rahal, co-owner of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing with former late-night talk show host David Letterman and Mi-Jack co-owner Michael Lanigan. “We couldn’t ask for a better company to work with, whether it be the quality of their equipment and employees or their commitment to give back to charitable organizations. They are a first-class organization and we are proud to be able to extend our partnership.”

The team partnered this with United Rentals on the Turns for Troops program that saw $50 donated by United Rentals to Soldier Strong for each race lap Graham Rahal completed in the 2016 season. More than $100,000 was donated through the program and Rahal was this week awarded the “Commitment to Service Award” from Soldier Strong for his impact in raising awareness for their organization and the veterans they serve.

"United Rentals is very excited to extend our relationship with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing," said Chris Hummel, chief marketing officer at United Rentals. "The RLL partnership has given us a terrific platform to showcase our equipment solutions and innovative offerings that improve productivity and safety. The entire RLL organization, and Graham Rahal in particular, have also been outstanding supporters of our Turns for Troops program to raise funds in support of wounded servicemen and women."

Pocono provides “Worry-Free Weather Guarantee”

Pocono Raceway announced it is offering a Worry-Free Weather Guarantee for its major races in 2017, including the ABC Supply 500, the 15th race on the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series schedule. This guarantee is free to all Pocono fans holding a race-day grandstand, club or suite ticket to either NASCAR premier series race or the Verizon IndyCar Series race in 2017.

The guarantee ensures that fans who purchase Sunday tickets directly from Pocono Raceway in advance will be reimbursed the face value if weather postpones the race and they are unable to make the rescheduled event. Pit/paddock passes will also be eligible for reimbursement when they are purchased with a Sunday grandstand ticket. Pocono Raceway saw the unlikeliest of occurrences in 2016 when all three of its major series races were postponed by weather.

“Since 1971, we have hosted 101 NASCAR and INDYCAR races and only six of those have been postponed. After a tough year with three rainouts, we listened to our fans and instituted the Worry-Free Weather Guarantee,” said Brandon Igdalsky, Pocono Raceway president and CEO. “Now, if one of our Sunday races is impacted by weather and it is postponed, those fans who cannot make it on the rescheduled day will be reimbursed the face value of their ticket. This demonstrates our level of commitment to the greatest fans in motorsports.”

The ABC Supply 500 weekend is scheduled for Aug. 19-20, 2017. For more information on tickets and the guarantee, visit www.poconoraceway.com or call (800) RACEWAY.
