Zack Meyer

PITTSBORO, Ind. -  Team Moore Racing announced today that it has signed 21-year-old Toronto native Zack Meyer to drive its  No. 2 car for the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires 2014 season.

Meyer is a graduate of Pro Mazda in the Mazda Road to Indy. With the support of his sponsors DAMIS PARTNERS III and Innisfil Indy Karting, he is ready to climb up onto the last rung of the ladder series before entering IndyCar. Zack lists among his accomplishments in his young career: sixth place in the 2013 Pro Mazda Championship, fourth place in 2011 Star Mazda Winter Series, the KZ2 Champion in both 2011 and 2012 Florida Winter Tour, as well as the Champion in both 2009 and 2010 Brian Stewart BSRKC-F125/ICC Shifter.

“I am more than excited to be racing and be a part of Team Moore Racing for the 2014 season of Indy Lights," Meyer said. "The atmosphere at the shop and around the team is exactly what a racecar driver needs to be focused and on point at all times. Communication is key and understanding one another: it’s all there. I really look forward to an amazing season with TMR and increasing my experience level of racing. One day, hopefully sooner rather than later, I can be at the top in IndyCar."

“Everyone here is excited to have Zack come and compete with us in the 2014 Championship," said team owner Mark Moore. "Zack brings a youthful exuberance to our whole program.  It is such a pleasure to watch a young man who truly loves to drive a racecar; there are no words to describe it.  We had a very successful two day test at Putnam Road Course Park in September and I really didn’t believe my stop watch.  We have a complete testing program and will be building towards the first event. I believe this to be another very good example of how well prepared the young drivers coming out of ProMazda are.  They are certainly ready to take on Indy Lights."

The season kicks off March 30th on the Streets of St. Petersburg.
