Matthew Brabham's 10th victory of the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires season in Race 1 of the Grand Prix of Trois-Rivières in Quebec set a series single-season record for wins.

The Andretti Autosport driver, who earned the pole, led all 40 laps following the standing start in the No. 83 MAZDASPEED car. The 19 year old extended his championship lead to 73 points over race runner-up Diego Ferreira of Juncos Racing.

"We had an absolutely great race; everything went according to plan," said Brabham, who will start Race 2 on Aug. 11 from the pole. "I got a really good jump off the start and managed to pull a few car lengths into the lead. The rest of the race, we just managed the gap back to second. I'm so happy to get my 10th win; this season has been amazing for us, and I owe it to my Andretti crew."

JDC MotorSport’s Juan Piedrahita earned his third podium finish of the season. Spencer Pigot of Team Pelfrey was the biggest mover in the field. After gaining two positions at the start, Pigot faced off with Shelby Blackstock in a spirited duel for fifth position, eventually passing the Andretti Autosport driver on Lap 17 for his ninth top-five result of the year and earning the Quarter Master Hard Charger Award in the process.
