Conor Daly

INDYCAR’s “Fast Six” is a report derived from all things found online about Verizon IndyCar Series racing, its drivers and people. We seek and find pics and quips as INDYCAR drivers live their extraordinary lives and put the evidence into tweets, Instagrams and more. Check back regularly when we post the latest.

Just like apple pie

Among the best-dressed drivers this election week was Conor Daly, who showed up to the Verizon IndyCar Series “Dancing with the Stars” watch party in Indianapolis on Monday sporting an American flag-patterned jacket. He used the red, white and blue look to encourage everyone to support his pal, James Hinchcliffe, on the show and, the next day, to vote in the general election.

A lovely message

Late Tuesday on his social media account, Marco Andretti just tried to encourage everyone.

Winning South Carolina

Speaking of the election, four-time Verizon IndyCar Series champion and 2008 Indianapolis 500 winner Scott Dixon couldn’t lose in South Carolina if he tried on Tuesday.

A little help from a (motorsports) friend

Speaking of “Dancing with the Stars,” Hinchcliffe, who continues to amaze the paddock with his dancing ability, had an on-set visit from Schmidt Peterson Motorsports team co-owner Sam Schmidt this week in Los Angeles.

Freeze frame

While he was there, we’re sure Sam managed to pick Hinch out of the lineup in fellow DWTS competitor Laurie Hernandez’s Mannequin Challenge video. Can you? (Hint: it’s not easy.)

Honoring an icon

Many of the greats who drove for Newman/Haas Racing gathered in suburban Chicago to honor the late Carl Haas over the weekend. This snap, tweeted by Mario Andretti, amounts to an untold number of race wins. Pictured left to right are: Brian Redman, Christian Fittipaldi, David Hobbs, Oriol Servia, Cristiano da Matta, Mario Andretti, Bruno Junqueira, Michael Andretti and Sebastien Bourdais.
