Happy Thanksgiving from INDYCAR

INDYCAR is thankful for having the best fans in all of professional sports and wishes you a bountiful Thanksgiving Day of family, friendship and happy memories.

Just like many Verizon IndyCar Series fans, the stars of the sport gather around the Thanksgiving table for food, laughter and family. We asked a panel of drivers about their favorite “Turkey Day” traditions and indulgences that they’ll partake in on Nov. 26.

Favorite Thanksgiving Day tradition?
Charlie Kimball: When everyone at the table says what they are thankful for.
Will Power: The food is definitely my favorite…I try to eat it all!
Gabby Chaves: THE FEAST!

Favorite Thanksgiving meal and dessert?
Chaves: Meal – Turkey and ham. Dessert – Pumpkin cheesecake.
Power: Meal - Broccoli, cheese and rice casserole. Dessert--Pistachio Jell-O salad.

Favorite place to spend Thanksgiving?
Pippa Mann: We usually go to my In-laws place, and it's always great to see, and catch up with them!

Any plans outside of the traditional turkey dinner?
Power: Typically we eat and nap, but this year we are going to the Panthers-Cowboys game after lunch.

Any fun Thanksgiving memories?

When does the Christmas tree go up?
Power: Immediately after Thanksgiving, for sure. Generally on the day we get back from Texas, or the day of if we're at home.
Chaves: The day after Halloween…!
