Scott Dixon

TORONTO -- Scott Dixon is in the hunt for his fourth Verizon IndyCar Series championship, and his No. 9 Chip Ganassi Racing Teams Chevrolet carries the paint scheme of a couple of large hunters with their jaws open.

The "Jurassic World" entry hits the 1.755-mile, 11-turn Exhibition Place street circuit for the Honda Indy Toronto on June 12 -- the same day the action-adventure feature film opens in North America. "Jurassic World” is the next installment of Steven Spielberg’s series from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment. The movie stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and Vincent D’Onofrio.

" 'Jurassic Park,' I think I was 13 or 14 when I saw that one and it was intense," said Dixon, who won the Firestone 600 on June 6 at Texas Motor Speedway and is third in the standings heading into the 10th race of the season. "I think this paint scheme is just fantastic. There's a lot of depth to it and certainly different from a lot of the paint schemes we've run.

"It’s a classic movie series with a massive following and the timing for running this livery in step with the movie release couldn’t be better.”

Dixon is no stranger to Toronto, having swept the doubleheader race in 2013 and starting from the pole.
