NOLA Motorsports Park

If you’re heading to the football game between host LSU and Alabama on Nov. 8 or the San Francisco 49ers at the New Orleans Saints game on Nov. 9, check out the INDYCAR activities to promote the ticket launch of the Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana.

Tickets to the inaugural Verizon IndyCar Series event at NOLA Motorsports Park on April 10-12, 2015, go on sale Nov. 10.

From 3-4 p.m. (local) on North Stadium Drive (northeast corner of the Athletic Administration building on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge), 1991 CART champion and Verizon IndyCar Series team owner Michael Andretti and Verizon IndyCar Series driver Justin Wilson will greet fans and sign autographs before the No. 4 Crimson Tide face the No. 14 Tigers.

At the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in downtown New Orleans the next day, Verizon IndyCar Series champion Will Power will sample gumbo and “Pigskin Po-Boys” at the Opening Act tailgate area adjacent to Champions Square before heading to the dome to join Andretti for the Saints-49ers contest. Street-legal two-seater rides will be available from 9 a.m.-noon and 3-6 p.m. (local) at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Andretti and Power will join local celebrities and officials in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Nov. 10 at NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, La., to kick off ticket sales followed by a visit with patients at Ochsner Hospital for Children. The racing circuit (photo above taken Oct. 29) is undergoing modifications.
