SONOMA, Calif. -- Will Power was quickest again in the second practice session, but he'll have plenty of competition in qualifying for the GoPro Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma on Brasil IT+ Pole Day.

Power, driving the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske car, recorded a lap of 1 minute, 17.5339 seconds on the 2.385-mile, 12-turn road course in the hour-long session before the three rounds of qualifications.

Seven different teams were represented in the top 10. Scott Dixon in the No. 9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing car was second (1:17.9725) and Ryan Briscoe was third (1:18.0682) in the No. 2 Hitachi Team Penske car.

Power leads the IZOD IndyCar Series championship by five points over Ryan Hunter-Reay entering the 85-lap race at Sonoma on Aug. 26. Hunter-Reay, driving the No. 28 Team DHL/Sun Drop Citrus Soda car, improved his lap time significantly from the initial practice session and was seventh on the time sheet.
