LEXINGTON, Ohio -- Peter Dempsey set the pace in the Firestone Indy Lights practice preceding qualifications with a lap of 1 minute, 17.5383 seconds on the wet 2.258-mile, 13-turn Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Rain overnight and a morning shower that abated two hours before the session left the road course slick in sections. Dempsey, driving the No. 5 Belardi Auto Racing car, logged 22 laps in the 45-minute session. Juan Pablo Garcia (1:19.0055) was second in the No. 2 TMR-International-Euclid Chemical car and Axcil Jefferies (1:19.1317) was third in the No. 28 Starting Grid car.

The Schmidt Peterson with Curb-Agajanian cars of Gabby Chaves, Sage Karam and Jack Hawksworth totaled 11 laps late in the session.
