The inaugural “Lone Star Johnny Rutherford Award” will be presented during the INDYCAR Ministry Indianapolis 500 Breakfast on May 26 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The event, also featuring a tribute to two-time Indianapolis 500 champion Dan Wheldon, is open to the public. Get tickets at www.indy500breakfast.com.

The Lone Star Johnny Rutherford Award will be presented to an IndyCar participant who exemplifies outstanding character, integrity and leadership in the home, at the track and in the community.

Rutherford, a three-time Indy 500 winner, is a member of the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America. He’s also the pace car driver for IZOD IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights events. More importantly, he’s an individual of character who has served his family and community faithfully through the years and is a role model for drivers and business people alike.

Jack Arute will be the master of ceremonies at the event, which will include a multimedia presentation of the rich history of the race and its fans while honoring a number of drivers, teams and luminaries past and present. Attendees will depart with a limited-edition souvenir.

Companies With A Mission is the presenting sponsor.
