Juan Pablo Montoya

INDYCAR's "Fast Six" is a report derived from all things found online about Verizon IndyCar Series racing, its drivers and people. We seek and find pics and quips as INDYCAR drivers live their extraordinary lives and put the evidence on Twitter, Instagram and more. Check back regularly when we post the latest.

Is It 2018 Yet?

On Tuesday, Oriol Servia and Juan Pablo Montoya tested the new 2018 universal aerodynamic bodywork kit at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, to which both were left speechless on how it drove.

Remembering ‘Gentle Giant’ Justin Wilson

On what would have been Justin Wilson’s 39th birthday Tuesday, the Verizon IndyCar Series paddock’s “Gentle Giant” was remembered across social media, showing us a life well lived and his two growing daughters, Jane and Jessica.

Fun day hanging with the girls. Never a dull moment with these two. Tobogganing and Chocolate in memory of JW

Because ‘Merica

After his win at Mid-Ohio, Josef Newgarden is topping the points for the Verizon IndyCar Series championship and his fans are clearly celebrating the American success story.

Meantime, Newgarden is checking out next year’s squeeze.

Sign my …

While we’re talking rear ends, we found this snap of Tony Kanaan signing a reserved spot on James Hinchcliffe’s Honda Indy Toronto firesuit. It’s clearly a captionable moment and we think Kanaan’s assistant, Benito Santos, is winning with, “Nice, your suit comes with a zipper in the back.”

Winners drink milk

Ryan Hunter-Reay had a good day Friday at the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio. Ryden, the only one of Hunter-Reay’s three children old enough to have seen his dad win the Indianapolis 500 in 2014, wondered about a drink for his champion.

Tire alignment

Just before piloting his own rocket ship in Mid-Ohio, Scott Dixon stopped off in Cleveland at NASA’s Glenn Research Center. We don’t think they have Firestones in space … not yet.

Viva la vida

INDYCAR drivers are getting a break before they’re back racing in the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway on Aug. 20. Marco Andretti started his R&R Tuesday with Coldplay at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, along with some well-known racing pals.
