Gabby Chaves accepts trophy at Barber

Gabby Chaves earned his initial Firestone Indy Lights podium finish April 7 with third place in the Legacy Indy Lights 100 at Barber Motorsports Park.

It was his second start in the Schmidt Peterson Motorsports car. Carlos Munoz of Andretti Autosport won the 40-lap race on the 2.38-mile road course and Jack Hawksworth of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports was runner-up.

"It is great to get my first series podium finish," Chaves said. "I will keep working very hard to get better every time I get behind the wheel, and reach the final edge of this car. I have an amazing engineer and crew that give me 100 percent all the time, allowing me to fight for wins and the championship."
