Team Helio roared away with solid reviews from the judges on "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars" on Oct. 1, but remained in the middle of the pack of 12 celebrity couples.

Castroneves and his professional dance partner, Chelsie Hightower, received a total score of 23 for their Jive performance from the three-judge panel and were sixth overall. The judges' score, combined with fan voting, determines who advances each week. Tonight (8 ET) on ABC is the results show.

“I felt it was awesome because my last Jive five years ago wasn’t that nice," said Castroneves, the winner of Season 5 of the competition. "The judges didn’t like it. I felt my score (this time) could have been a little bit better, but I’m not the one to know all the dances. I really put a lot of energy into it and Chelsie did an amazing job of choreography. Tonight, I’m going to sleep nice and hopefully the votes will be there so we can go for the next one.”

On the results show, the couple with the lowest combined total of judges’ scores and fan votes will be eliminated. Actress Pamela Anderson said goodbye in Week 1.

Also, Katherine Jenkins and Placido Domingo join forces to sing “Come What May.” The Welsh soprano was the runner-up on “Dancing With the Stars” last spring when Donald Driver won. The results show also features pop singer Cheryl Lloyd, who will sing “Want You Back.”

During the first hour, judges review contestants’ past performances on “Defining Dances.”

Hightower called Castroneves' Jive “a flawless performance.  We rehearsed that so much and he really came out and delivered tonight so I was really proud of him.”

Although the judges praised the IZOD IndyCar Series driver’s style and smile, judges Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli said his knees went too high in the Jive.

“Five years ago my knees weren’t high in the kicks and now they’re saying my knees are too high," Castroneves shrugged.  "So, OK, I’m listening but maybe it’s not very clear. I was really focused on the technique, the feet, the toes to make sure everything’s fine, the lines.  Apparently they didn’t comment on that part so that means it was good."

Castroneves, who visited Disneyland with his girlfriend Adriana and daughter Mikaella on Sept. 29, was buoyed by their being in the audience for his performance.

“I think the adrenaline kept me going. When Mikaella screamed ‘go, Papa!’ that was just the best part of it,” he said.

Sabrina Bryan received the highest score for her Quickstep and actor Gilles Marini’s jive earned second place.

Hightower's ride in the Indy Racing Experience two-seater (with Mario Andretti doing the driving) at Auto Club Speedway on Sept. 15 was included in the couple's introduction to their high-spirited performance.

"I got out of that car and couldn't understand how he does that," Hightower said.
