Stefan Wilson returns to series for finale

Fan Force United has announced that it will be head to the season-ending Firestone Indy Lights race at Auto Club Speedway with veteran driver Stefan Wilson behind the wheel of the No. 24 machine.

Wilson, who has contested 29 Firestone Indy Lights races in his young career, notching two wins, five podiums, and one pole position, is looking forward to getting back on track and getting up to speed on the 2-mile oval.

“I’m really excited about this, and am just so thankful to get a call and the opportunity to race.  My goal, of course, is to eventually make it to the IZOD IndyCar Series," Wilson said. "I know I have time to make that happen, so I’ve been working very hard to be sure that I am back in [Firestone] Indy Lights for next season.  Because of that, being able to run the last race of this season is quite pleasing."

"It will be great to get back in a car, and to hit the track with Fan Force United.  I just want to thank Tyce, Chris, Scott, and everybody on the team for this opportunity.  I know it’s a hard-working group of guys, and I definitely don’t want to disappoint. I’m really looking forward to representing the team, to representing Jacked Up Energy Drink, and to being very competitive next weekend.”

Fan Force United is also hitting the track in California with a new sponsor, “Jacked Up Energy Drink” (www.jackedupenergy.com). The No. 24 car will sport a fresh and energetic look for the race, and the Jacked Up Energy party bus will make its way to the racetrack as well.

“We’re really looking to close out our season with a strong run out in California, and heading there with Jacked Up on board as a sponsor makes us feel even better about our chances," team principal Chris Williams said. "The guys have been working extra hard getting the car ready for this race, and we feel like we’re going to be running up front.  We’re excited about our new relationship with Stefan and with Jacked Up, and we expect next weekend to be a lot of fun.”

Wilson, who will be 23-years-old on September 20th, boasts impressive credentials. He was the recipient of the 2007 McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year award, which has also been awarded to drivers such as David Coulthard, Jenson Button, and Dario Franchitti. In addition to his Firestone Indy Lights victories, his young career has seen him post wins in Formula Palmer Audi (4) and British F3 (4). Wilson has also done a Formula 1 test with the famed McLaren team. Bolstered by his two wins and three additional podium finishes, Wilson posted a third place in the 2011 Firestone Indy Lights championship.

The Firestone Indy Lights race at Auto Club Speedway will take place at 6 p.m. (ET) on Saturday, September 15th, and will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network September 20 at 4 p.m. (ET).
