1.6 – Average running position for race runner-up Josef Newgarden during the 85 laps of racing at Sonoma Raceway.

3.46 –  Average running position for race winner Simon Pagenaud during the 85 laps of racing at Sonoma.

6 – Different teams represented in the top-10 positions at Sonoma.

7 – Positions gained by Carlos Munoz (22nd to 15th), most of any driver. The +7 positions gave Munoz the TAG Heuer Don’t Crack Under Pressure award for 2017.

344 – Indy car starts for Helio Castroneves, which is third on the all-time list. Kanaan is fourth on the list with his 343 starts.

2,331 – Laps completed by Simon Pagenaud in 2017. Pagenaud joined Kanaan (2004) as the only Indy car drivers to complete every lap of every race in a season.
