TORONTO -- Carlos Munoz recorded a lap of 1 minute, 0.2119 seconds in the No. 26 AndrettiTV Cinsay Andretti Autosport Honda  to lead the 23-car in the 30-minute practice session for the Honda Indy Toronto on the 1.755-mile, 11-turn Exhibition place street circuit.

NBCSN's telecast of the 85-lap race starts at 2 p.m. (ET), with the green flag scheduled for 3:08 p.m. City and Sportsnet1 have coverage in Canada beginning at 2:30 p.m.

Graham Rahal (1:00.2759) in the No. 15 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing entry and Conor Daly , driving the No. 5 Arrow/Lucas Oil Schmidt Peterson Motorsports car, also in Honda-powered cars, were next on the time sheet. Daly clocked a lap of 1:00.3259.

The top 15 drivers were separated by 0.5730 of a second on the drying racetrack. Will Power, who earned his fifth pole of the season and 41st of his career to break a tie with Rick Mears for fifth all time, turned a lap of 1:00.7849 in the No. 1 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet for 16th place.

Intermittent rain fell in the morning and is expected midday, which could impact the racing on the tight and challenging course.

"(Concrete patches in some corners is) very much like a polished concrete. You look in the mirror, if the sun is at the right angle, it shines, which shows you how slick it is," said Sebastien Bourdais, who won Race 1 of a doubleheader last year in Toronto and qualified fifth in the No. 11 Team Hydroxycut-KVSH Racing Chevrolet. "When you throw some water on it, it's definitely quite exciting. It's very unpredictable. You go into the corner and you catch the car, you lose the car, catch the car again.

"The visibility can be very treacherous on the back straightaway. It's a lot of things to overcome and it would be a shame if it was raining during (the) race. We all know how tough it will be to race in; it's more about survival at that point."
