Forty-eight hours after posing with the Borg-Warner Trophy on the Yard of Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis 500 winner Juan Pablo Montoya was eyeing the Firestone 600 trophy.

"You got my trophy for two weeks from now?. I really like this one," Montoya said during a media dinner May 27 in Fort Worth, Texas, hosted by Texas Motor Speedway president Eddie Gossage.

Montoya led a herd of longhorns through the Fort Worth stockyards and then was serenaded by a mariachi band and a standing ovation from racing fans. The event was among a three-day, three-city Victory Tour. He started the day with TV interviews and ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

“In a way it’s really cool and in a way it’s hell,” Montoya said. “I don’t mind helping INDYCAR and helping Verizon promote the series. I think the race was pretty cool.”

Gossage and three-time Indy 500 winner Johnny Rutherford toasted Montoya with a glass of milk.
