FONTANA, Calif. -- A $1 million bonus will be awarded to the Verizon IndyCar Series driver champion Aug. 31 at the INDYCAR Championship Celebration at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.
Will Power, Team Penske teammate Helio Castroneves and Simon Pagenaud of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports are in contention for the prize entering the title-deciding MAVTV 500 at Auto Club Speedway. Watch the 250-lap race live at 9 p.m. (ET) Aug. 30 on NBCSN.
