The Grove in Los Angeles

Bookending the championship-deciding MAVTV 500 on Aug. 30 at Auto Club Speedway are events open to the public that feature the Verizon IndyCar Series’ stars.

Two days before the 250-lap race on the 2-mile oval, title contenders Will Power, Helio Castroneves and Simon Pagenaud will greet fans at The Grove, a lifestyle center at 189 The Grove Drive in Los Angeles, from noon - 3 p.m. There will be ticket giveaways, IndyCars on display and simulated pit stop demonstrations near the center’s popular fountain.

“Everything about IndyCar finishing here is big, important,” said Pagenaud, “and California is such a cool state.”

Less than 24 hours after the champion is crowned in Fontana, Calif., drivers and teams will reconvene at the LA LIVE entertainment complex at 800 Olympic Blvd. for the INDYCAR Championship Celebration. Fans are welcome to meet the during the red carpet festivities at 4 p.m.

The party moves into the eclectic Club Nokia, where drivers and team members will be honored during the show. Both events will be streamed live on IndyCar.com. Huntington Beach, Calif.-based The Dirty Heads will perform.

“With only one race to go, the Verizon IndyCar Series championship remains up for grabs. This season’s finale will be hard-fought on the track and that drama requires an equal level of off-track excitement,” said C.J.
