JAY Motorsports

Three drivers with strong credentials have joined JAY Motorsports for the Copper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda.

Henrik Furuseth, who recorded seven victories en route to the USF2000 National class title in 2012 and posted two podium finishes in the 2013 Championship class, joins the Florida-based team along with Pacific F1600 Championship champion Colton Herta and F1600 Formula F Championship Series runner-up Adrian Starrantino.

"'I am thrilled to be joining JAY Motorsports for the 2014 USF2000 season," said Furuseth, 17, of Norway. "I am confident we can put together a championship-winning package. Having such talented drivers like Adrian and Colton as teammates will also be very beneficial for me to develop my skills further. I believe we will be really strong as a team all year, and I can't wait to start working with all the guys on the team."

Herta, 13, captured the Pacific Championship title as a formula car rookie with 10 wins and 15 podium finishes in 15 races.

"I can't wait for the season to get started," said Herta, the son of former IndyCar Series race winner and present team co-owner Bryan Herta. "We've already done some testing together, and I know JAY Motorsports is as motivated as I am this season. The competition is strong in USF2000, but I know I have a great team, and I look forward to becoming a part of the Mazda Road to Indy."

Starrantino, 19, also of California, had four victories as the F16000 F Championship Series title was decided in the season finale.

"I have been eager to run with (team principal) Jay (Green) after watching his results on-track, combined with his professionalism off-track," Starrantino said. "I can't wait to get the season started and see what it has in store for us."

Added Green: "We worked very hard to put together a very talented group of young drivers. Everyone on the team has the same drive and determination to win, and I cannot wait to get the season started."
