Biography of James Hinchcliffe

James Hinchcliffe is the "Mayor of Hinchtown," which is his Internet city that welcomes everyone to visit.

Hinchcliffe likes long walks on the beach, flannel shirts, maple syrup and dog sled racing. "I am also a competitive lumber jack in my spare time," he jokes. As you can tell, Hinchcliffe has quite the personality.

He's also an accomplished race car driver, having finished second in the 2010 Firestone Indy Lights championship. In 2011, he was the Sunoco Rookie of the Year in the IZOD IndyCar Series.

• Finished eighth in IZOD IndyCar Series standings for Andretti Autosport.

Andretti Autosport

Based in Indianapolis and led by racing legend Michael Andretti, Andretti Autosport fields multiple entries in the IZOD IndyCar Series. Andretti Autosport also campaigns multiple cars in Firestone Indy Lights, the Star Mazda Championship and in the USF2000 National Championship.

The company boasts three IZOD IndyCar Series championships (2004, 2005 and 2007), two Firestone Indy Lights titles (2008 and 2009), one USF2000 championship (2010) and has won the Indianapolis 500 twice (2005 and 2007).

Andretti competed for 19 years in the CART championship before moving to the IndyCar Series in 2003. He retired from full-time driving following the 2003 Indianapolis 500 to concentrate on team ownership.
