Matt Machiko grew up in racing visiting tracks around the U.S. as his father was competing in Formula Atlantic. At a very young age, Machiko fell in love with the sport and began karting at age 11. His passion continues today at age 25 as he competes in the Formula Mazda category.
After successfully winning three consecutive karting championships and graduating from high school, Matt spent four years at Penn State. During this time, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Economics, which he believed would be a launchpad for business partnerships in motorsports. Machiko is currently pursuing his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh to deepen his knowledge to add more value to future business ventures.
Racing has never been on the sideline during these years as Matt broke two track records in the D-Sports Racing category and competed consistently in the top ten of the F2000 Championship Series.
Thus far in his young career, Matt has become a race winner in karting, sports car racing, and open wheel competition. He is currently campaigning a full season in his Mazda-powered Formula Mazda with his sights set on a Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) championship that may lead to a scholarship from Mazda to transition to the professional ranks of motorsports.
