After one and a half year of kart racing, and the results achieved he is offered the opportunity of a two years plan in the F4 Championship with the Autosport Academy, the first year (2012) to learn and a second year (2013) to compete for results.
With great satisfaction the results arrived already the first year, being in fact the driver with the best results progression of the all lot of drivers attending to this competition.
Although Nico started with no experience, and with no training, he started from the middle rows in the first races to soon reach the first rows at the middle of the season and to end up with 4 podiums and a second position result on the last race.
Throughout the all season as already mentioned Nico showed his skills especially in his ability to learn fast, and having the speed from his side he soon managed to compete with the front runners. Results came immediately, being one of the reference drivers of the championship.
From the F4 championship Nico the took the challenge to upgrade directly to Formula Renault 2.0 in the NEC championship, and here we are just three races and already in the podium.

Snapshot: I started racing quite late, when I was 15, by seeing my father driving in Europe. Before trying to become a racing champion, I had the ambition to become a tennis professional. I played tennis for 12 years (from 3 to 15 years old), then I had knee problems which forced me to stop. Then I discovered racing and that’s my new target – to become an IndyCar champion in few years by growing up through the Mazda Road to Indy. Apart from that, I’m an ambitious and competitive driver. I’m always concentrating on my goal during a race weekend, but I like having laughs with my friends when I have the occasion!
Racing goal: To become an IndyCar champion by winning every championships on the way up, step by step, starting with the USF2000 championship this year!
Racing hero: Ayrton Senna.
My fitness routine includes: A couple of hours daily training (cardio, body workout, swimming)
Any pre-race rituals or superstitions: I climb in my car every time from the same side (left side)
An interesting note about me: I have the ability to learn a new track very quickly and to be on a good pace early, which will help me being a rookie.
