A native of the United Kingdom, Michael Epps has acquired a lengthy karting record. He began karting at the age of 13 and won his first race in December 2005. Epps drove a race car for the first time and won the London Cup all in the same year.
When Epps finds a break between races he enjoys cycling, graphic design, fitness and being a musician.
Hobbies: Musician, mountain biking and cycling, fitness, race car engineering, graphic design
Snapshot: I’m quite chilled, both in and out of the car. I like being active, using gyms, getting out on a bike. I love Italian food, which is unfortunate really since my diet is strict to stay light! I like socializing, but I sometimes stay in using simulator programs like iRacing or rFactor, which keeps me sharp and prepared for each test or race. I have a passion for music. I’ve played many instruments since a young age and performed in shows and concerts. I now produce electronic music and hope to be able to get into the music industry one day too.
Racing goal: To be in IndyCar, the Indy 500, Le Mans or F1 are the biggest of my racing dreams, but for me there is no point in shutting other doors and only having one goal. I just want to win and have as much success as possible in this sport. I aim to make a career out of it.
Racing hero(s): Stirling Moss, Ayrton Senna, Fernando Alonso, James Hunt
My fitness routine includes: Mountain biking, endurance cardio and intensive cardio, specific resistance/weight/core training.
Any pre-race rituals or superstitions: I have to get in from the left or right side, otherwise I can’t get in...
The one talent I wish I had: Sometimes I wish I was a good footballer (soccer). I’m really not very good at it.
An interesting note about me: I have been a musician (piano and drums) since a very young age and I produce electronic/modern music.
