DETROIT -- Dario Franchitti earned the Verizon P1 Award for Race 1 of the Chevrolet Indy Dual in Detroit presented by Quicken Loans and posted the quickest lap in the 70-lap competition June 1.

He geared up for Race 2 (3:30 p.m. ET on ABC) with the quickest lap of the 25 drivers -- 1 minute, 17.9486 seconds on the 2.346-mile, 13-turn street circuit.

Franchitti, driving the No. 10 Suave car for Target Chip Ganassi Racing, will start 16th for the 70-lap Race 2 on Belle Isle. Sebastien Bourdais, who made his 100th Indy car start in Race 1, was second (1:18.0896) in the No. 7 Dragon Racing car, and Race 1 winner Mike Conway was third (1:18.2082) in the No. 18 Dale Coyne Racing car.

Conway earned the Verizon P1 Award for Race 2, too, by posting the quickest lap of two groups in 12-minute qualifying sessions hours before Race 1. If Conway can sweep the races, he'll receive the $50,000 SONAX Perfect Finish Award. If he can't complete the task, the prize fund will be carried over to Toronto in mid-July and be worth $100,000.

Justin Wilson, the third-place finisher in Race 1, was fourth on the time sheet and Long Beach winner Takuma Sato was fifth.

Helio Castroneves reclaimed the championship points lead with his fifth place in Race 1. He'll take a three-point advantage over Ryan Hunter-Reay, who was the Race 1 runner-up, and four-point margin over Marco Andretti into Race 2.
