Ana Beatriz would like to clarify that the proposal of marriage before the start of the 97th Indianapolis 500 wasn't legit so she's not getting married -- anytime soon at least.

The event was staged by a Brazilian comedian, according to Beatriz. And if her boyfriend would have chosen such a time to pop the question, "I would have killed him."

Beatriz went on to turn in a solid performance in her fourth Indianapolis 500, gaining 14 positions relative to her starting spot -- the most in the 33-driver field -- to finish 15th in the Dale Coyne Racing-prepared car.

"The No. 18 Ipiranga Honda was great all race," Beatriz said in recording her highest Indy 500 finish and completing all 200 laps for the first time. "It was the best car I have ever driven at Indianapolis. We lost a little on our pit stops and our last one cost us finishing higher. The team did a great job all race and I am so happy with the results."

In his second Indy 500, Simon Pagenaud advanced 13 positions in the No. 77 Schmidt Hamilton HP Motorsports car. The Honda-powered car was the fastest in the final practice session May 24.

"It's only my second year here at Indianapolis and I think we showed a lot of promise for the future," Pagenaud said. "This is the biggest racing event in the world and we showed so much strength. Obviously, we started far back in the 21st position, but we made our way as high as fourth at one point."

Pagenaud finished 16th in the 2012 race.

"I know the race just ended but I'm ready for the next Indy 500 and hope to come back next year and win."

Rookie Tristan Vautier moved up 12 places to finish 16th in the No. 55 Lucas Oil/Schmidt Peterson Motorsports car. Other big advancers included Tony Kanaan, who won the race after starting 12th; Charlie Kimball, who gained 10 spots to ninth; Justin Wilson, who improved nine spots to finish fifth; and rookie Conor Daly, who also improved nine positions.
