SEBRING, Fla. – After a mechanical issue on the opening lap of Race 1 took him out early, Californian Neil Alberico rebounded to take the win in Race 2 at Sebring International Raceway.

Alberico took the lead on a restart after an incident in Lap 1, passing Andretti Autosport's Garett Grist.

“It was a frustrating start to the season yesterday," Alberico said. "I didn’t put down a good lap time because I didn’t race so I started fifth today. I just really wanted to get a clean start in the first corner, put my head down and turn some good laps and I ended up leading the race. It was great way to end the weekend and I’m looking forward to St. Petersburg next weekend.”

Alberico's Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing teammate Scott Hargrove, who started from pole but slipped back to third position early, finished second. The addition of the podium finish with yesterday's win in Race 1 has Hargrove leading the point standings by 14 points over Belardi Auto Racing's Danilo Estrela.

Estrela achieved his second consecutive third-place finish, while Jesse Lazare of Pabst Racing Services finished fourth. Grist rounded out the top five.

Other noteworthy drives included RC Enerson of ZSports Midwest with Team E Racing, who advanced 11 positions from 29th to 18th to claim the Tilton Hard Charger Award. Eight different teams were represented in the top-10.

In the National Class Presented by SCCA Enterprises, Alliance Autosport’s Scott Rettich notched his second win of the year in the No. 71 PDI Communication Systems/Springboro Car Wash entry.

The Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda will be back in action next weekend with a double-header on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla., in support of the season-opening race of the IZOD IndyCar Series which will feature all levels of the Mazda Road to Indy.
