WEST ALLIS, Wis. -- Three consecutive IZOD IndyCar Series races on Saturdays. All on ovals, though they are as diverse as the countryside their venues occupy.

Dub it (well, unofficially INDYCAR did) the "Super Saturday" series, which supports the season-long run to the A.J. Foyt Trophy that is presented to the driver with the most points in oval races.

With his victory at the 1.5-mile, high-banked Texas Motor Speedway under the lights June 9, Justin Wilson had the early lead with 50 points. Graham Rahal was second (40) and Ryan Briscoe was third (35).

Ryan Hunter-Reay was relegated to 21st at Texas because of a mechanical issue on the No. 28 Team DHL/Sun Drop Citrus Soda car and scored 12 points. Add the two points for leading the most laps at Milwaukee to the 50 for winning the Milwaukee IndyFest Presented by XYQ and he's in the hunt with 64 points.

Helio Castroneves, who gained eight positions to finish seventh at Texas, was in contention for the victory at Milwaukee midway through the race in the No. 3 Penske Truck Rental car. Being off-sequence for refueling and tires didn't help his cause, though he did finish sixth and totals 64 points to remain on the podium.

The Super Saturday series leader heading to the final round at Iowa Speedway on June 23 (another night race) is James Hinchcliffe, who followed a fourth place at Texas in the No. 27 GoDaddy.com car for Andretti Autosport with third place at Milwaukee for 67 points.

"It was great short-track racing," Hinchcliffe said of Milwaukee, where he was competing for the second time in the IZOD IndyCar Series. "Cars were falling off, guys were having to drive it. Great stops by the Go Daddy guys, and a great car in clean air."

It claiming his second podium of the season, Hinchcliffe also moved into second in the series championship standings (31 points behind Will Power of Team Penske). Maybe "the Mayor of Hinchtown" will get some pointers about how to tackle the .875-mile Iowa Speedway from teammate Marco Andretti, who won the Iowa Corn Indy 250 last June and tested there last week.
